Ruth is a creative nonfiction writer documenting the places and people—both human and nonhuman—that she has witnessed and loved. She lives in her home state of North Carolina, where she is usually at the mercy of a cat, several chickens, or a flock of insistent sheep. 

Ruth received her B.A. in English from UNC Chapel Hill in 2023. Two years later, she was selected for AWP's Writer to Writer Mentorship Program. She is currently writing a travel memoir about the five months she spent in Palestine, an excerpt of which is forthcoming in an anthology from Small Robin Press.
